Near the Eurovision Village, you’ll find Café Eiles, one of Vienna’s oldest coffee houses. It’s a great spot if you’d like to enjoy coffee and cake before heading to your Eurovision event at Rathausplatz.
The spacious venue offers classic Viennese coffeehouse charm, large window fronts, traditional Austrian dishes and a solid breakfast selection.

It’s a true classic of Viennese food culture: the sausage stand (German: „Würstelstand“). Around Rathausplatz, you’ll find plenty of options—but if you need a tip, head to Alles Wurscht at Börseplatz, just a relaxed ten-minute walk away.
Here, you’ll get honest, quick comfort food — from meatloaf („Leberkäse“) and Käsekrainer to currywurst. A big plus: they also offer several great vegan options, perfect if you’re not into meat.

If you’re up for a beer before (or after) your visit to the Eurovision Village at Rathausplatz, this spot comes highly recommended: the Irish pub The Long Hall, located just behind the City Hall on Florianigasse. It features a spacious outdoor garden and a wide selection of beers—from Guinness and Austrian brews to Franziskaner and Kozel, all on tap.
The food is on the hearty side as well, with dishes like burgers and nachos on the menu — the latter are surprisingly good and generously portioned for a pub. On weekends, you can even enjoy brunch at The Long Hall, with options like a traditional Irish breakfast or classics such as avocado toast and pancakes.

Speaking of beautiful outdoor dining spots: you’ll also find one at Café Diglas im Schottenstift, just a five-minute walk from Rathausplatz. Slightly hidden behind a rather unassuming entrance, it’s a true oasis in the heart of Vienna.
On the menu, you’ll find classic Viennese cuisine—but we especially recommend the desserts, particularly the chocolate pancakes and the curd cheese strudel.

Looking for a classic Austrian restaurant near Rathausplatz? Then check out the Wiener Rathauskeller, located right beneath the building! It’s a great choice if you’re in the mood for something a bit more refined — and if you’d like to try a Wiener Schnitzel during your Song Contest visit in Vienna.
The grand, historic interiors of the Rathauskeller are truly impressive and well worth seeing, even if the menu is slightly above average in price (but still reasonable). If you’d prefer to try a Wiener Schnitzel somewhere else, we’ve also put together a dedicated article with more recommendations for you:

After a long ESC evening, you might want to wind down with a cocktail. Our clear recommendation: Tür 7, about a ten-minute walk from Rathausplatz. This bar is a true insider spot and serves some of the best cocktails in the city.
In true speakeasy style, entry is by reservation only, and there’s no sign or flashy neon outside. You’ll find the contact details on the bar’s website. Once inside, though, you’ll be rewarded with an incredibly cosy atmosphere and a real living-room vibe.

„Unstoppable“ im Haus der Geschichte, 1010
- Neue Burg, Heldenplatz, 1010 Wien
- DI-SO
- www.hdgoe.at
And just this once, here’s a little sightseeing tip: the Haus der Geschichte Österreich is a major contemporary history museum and is hosting a special Eurovision exhibition this anniversary year. On display are, among other things, Conchita Wurst’s iconic dress, the stage design for “Wasted Love” by JJ, as well as impressions from the 1967 “grand prix de la chanson” held at the Hofburg.
The presentation is part of the main exhibition “New Times: Austria since 1918,” which explores the key political, social, cultural and economic developments of the past century.
If you’re looking to soak up some knowledge and dive into Austrian (and Eurovision) history, the House of History is a great stop—and just a 10 to 15-minute walk from Rathausplatz.
